The task force, known as the Frontier AI Resilience and Security Taskforce (FAIRS), includes leaders from telecommunications, media, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence (AI) sectors. The Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) announced its creation on October 14. The task force aims to improve response times against AI-accelerated threats, strengthen critical systems, and share intelligence to identify emerging attack techniques. A report with practical guidelines and best practices is set for publication in the first half of 2027. Concurrently, the IMDA has launched a starter kit for testing agentic AI systems for safety and reliability. While traditional AI systems generate outputs, agentic AI systems can act on behalf of users, accessing external systems and making environmental changes. The starter kit outlines a four-step testing process and was developed in consultation with industry deployers and testers. Separately, the AI Verify Foundation accredited five companies under its AI Tester Accreditation Programme (AI TAP), which helps businesses identify firms capable of testing the safety and reliability of generative AI applications.
