AI and the Future of Work The perfect follow up to our Claude discussion. Every conversation about AI and jobs ends in the same place. A number, a percentage, a prediction. Almost none of them ask the older question underneath. Not "will I have a job," but "what was the job for?" On August 12 we are putting three groups in one room who rarely talk to each other honestly. People who are hiring right now. People who are looking right now. And people who are just paying attention and want to be part of the conversation. Here is the real reason for the night. What hiring managers need has shifted hard in the last year, and most job seekers are still working off the old list. Nobody has said out loud what the new one is. So we are getting both sides in a room to find out. The night Leading the evening is Lucas Cecilio, speaker, writer, and vocational architect. Lucas writes at the intersection of the theology of work and vocational formation, has been published by ABC News, and is building an AI platform that helps high schoolers find a direction before the world assigns them one. He is not going to tell you which skills to learn. He is going to ask you a harder question. After Lucas, the room opens up. Drinks, snacks, and actual conversation between people hiring and people looking. We will put a few questions on the tables to get past the small talk, but the night belongs to the room. This is not a demo night. How registration works Everyone starts on the waitlist. When you register we ask whether you are hiring, looking, or here for the conversation, and we pull from the list to keep the room balanced. A night like this falls apart if it is ninety percent one side. Space is genuinely tight. If you do not get in this time, keep applying. We run these often and we would rather see you at the next one than pack this one. If you were at the Anthropic discussion night or Saturday's build, this is the other half of that conversation.
